Past Work

This work is in dialogue with the historical trajectory of queer culture, the effects of marginalization and seeks a broader exploration of identity. The scope of the work extends from the pre-Stonewall era to the new developments in biogenetic sciences that can alter identity  – from the 40’s and 50’s bar culture convention of rigorous butch-femme roles of the past to today’s queer culture that radically breaks with convention by rejecting static gender roles and/or biologically determined sex.
